CIS Spelling Bee Competition 2019
On Wednesday, 6th of March 2019, excitement was in the air at the Charis International School Auditorium as the Primary Students were getting excited for the CIS Annual Spelling Bee Competition. This event is held to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary and develop correct English usage.

All primary students, starting from Year 1 to 6, participated in the said event. There were three categories comprising of different levels: Category A - Primary 1 and 2, Category B – Primary 3 and 4, and Category C – Primary 5 and 6.
The event was spearheaded by Ms. Sheryl Gillick with the support of the School Principal, Mr. Ulf Wiman. The Spelling Bee pronouncers were Ms. Ada Wiman, Mr. Jeffrey Crews, and Mr. Mark Gillick.
The words ranged from easy to difficult. It was a very tough contest as all the students came prepared and ready to win the battle. But as with all other competitions, there is only one winner. The winners were:

Category A:
1st Place – Shannen Rose Gillick (Primary 1)
2nd Place – Jayden Chiuh (Primary 1)
3rd Place – Dania Binti Musleh (Primary 2)
Category B:
1st Place – Farzad Ahmed (Primary 4)
2nd Place – Yasmin Claire Chiuh (Primary 4)
3rd Place – Chloe Wong (Primary 4)

Category C:
1st Place – Soo Jia Yi (Primary 5)
2nd Place – Zachary Mark Gillick (Primary 6)
3rd Place – Defa Izza Khairunnisa (Primary 6)
