Jotham Pang Shines in International Mathematics Competitions
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 5 student, Jotham Pang, who recently won a Gold Medal and the Grand Prix Award in the Kangaroo Maths 2025 Contest. His remarkable performance places him among the top young mathematical thinkers in the region.
In addition, Jotham earned a Distinction in the EduKids Maths 2025 Competition, qualifying him for the upcoming Championship Round this Friday. We wish him the very best in this next stage!
These two competitions highlight different aspects of mathematical learning. While each contest has its own unique focus, together they provide valuable opportunities to showcase a range of skills — from conceptual understanding and problem-solving to operational fluency and accuracy. Jotham shines particularly in grasping concepts and recognising patterns, and with continued practice, he will further strengthen his procedural fluency and speed.
His success also illustrates the value of developing both deep understanding and solid foundational skills in mathematics. This balanced growth fosters confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.
Congratulations, Jotham! Your curiosity and persistence make us proud. Keep reaching for greater heights!
